Some steps in an investment lifecycle require Fondo's direct interaction with the end customer—for example signing an account-opening agreement, completing KYC/KYB questionnaires, authorizing a fund transfer, or defining an automated investment plan. Fondo supports these processes through Journeys: secure, pre-built web flows that partners can launch from their own app or site.
A Journey is created via the API and returns a unique, time-limited URL. When the partner redirects the customer to this URL, Fondo presents a responsive, compliant user interface where the required action is completed. Each Journey captures the customer's input, records legally binding agreements when needed, and reports the outcome back to the partner application through callback URLs or follow-up GET requests.
Typical uses include:
- Account opening – end customer reviews and signs agreements.
- Fund transfers – moves holdings from other custodians with customer approval.
- KYC / KYB questionnaires – collects required regulatory information.
- Allocation plans – sets automatic investment rules for incoming cash.
This architecture lets partners outsource complex regulated interactions while maintaining full control of their own user experience. By embedding a Journey link or redirect, partners give customers a seamless path to complete regulated steps, with Fondo handling compliance, secure storage of agreements, and structured API callbacks.
